Traveller Women’s Development

As part of the regional development work of the Women’s Regional Consortium two new Traveller women’s projects are building and strengthening . This work is located in two The number of Traveller women engaging in the groups is increasing. Levels of confidence and self- esteem are improving all the time The aim of this engagement is to support and work towards the achievement of Traveller women’s equality and access to education, employment and social & economic life.  The Regional Consortium is supporting   a local  women centre to develop this programme of confidence building and self-esteem building  using our feminist educational model.

A number of the women have already developed the confidence to make a visit to  the Women’s Centre  and begin the process of engaging in activities The developing groups are located in two of the most disadvantaged and deprived communities in the North West.
